’We tackle managers about their behaviour, about obstacles in their thought processes, about blind spots. The sort of thing for which you have to be an outsider, but also need to be on the same level.’

’Because of our research we also control the details.’

Harm Zandvoort studied Business Economics in Groningen. From 1978, he worked for Esso Chemicals, among others as HR manager. In 1982 he became advisor at Van Dien & Co (later to become PricewaterhouseCoopers). As advisor and later as Director Human Resources Advisory Group, he was involved in many advisory assignments in the field of Strategic Human Resources Management. In 1994, he became Corporate Director Human Resources with Royal Numico. He gave guidance during a number of fundamental change processes in the organization, for instance, the acquisition and disposal of company divisions, the design and completion of the new top structure (Executive Board and senior management) and the implementation of a global division structure.

He made partner at SMC in 2004. He is interested in situations in which fundamental changes have to be made under great time presure, and in the relationship between results and the behaviour of people in the organization.
